Ride on your habit to success

Life is an unending journey of success and failures, if you really see it in correct perspective, life is an unending journey of success, interspersed with training and learning sessions.  Failure is an experiment which didn’t go as planned, or didn’t give expected result, but even this failed experiment would bring you closer to success, should you choose to evaluate the reason, and update your diary of learning. Successful people are those people who knew how to handle their failures.   Handling failure is really important because failure doesn’t come alone, it brings in many by products like disappointment, depression, feeling bad, negativity trap, feeling victim, having self-pity syndrome. All these are fatal to a person’s motivation, motivation to move ahead.   These negative by-products can push a person in the downward spiral of depression. An ordinary person, whenever he is confronted with failure or setback, there is an expected and predictable behaviour...

Who are You? - 5: Peaceful Phlegmatic

When you see something remarkable happening, like India winning cricket match your sister tops in school examination, your dad gets promotion, or some kids are having great fun in the rains, or your mom has cooked excellent food for you; Do you feel excited, happy, elated, joyous and expressed love and emotion? You would say sure of course, I would feel excited if such good things are happening around me, and you might say – “Who wouldn’t?” Well, probably Peaceful Phlegmatic would not. Yes, these souls might not feel excited, elated, happy or moved. Phlegmatic is the temperament of content, in fact extreme content, even to the extent of rendering one inactive. Peaceful Phlegmatics are the easiest of all temperaments to get along with. The peaceful Phlegmatic person does not offend, does not get offended, does not call attention to himself, and quietly does what is expected of him without looking for credit. No, no its not a fact that all men of whatever temperament get transformed...

Who are You? - 4: Powerful Choleric

The Bio of Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, which holds around 400 companies across the globe, on LinkedIn says – “Tie-loathing adventurer and thrill seeker, who believes in turning ideas into reality. Otherwise known as Dr Yes at Virgin!”, is a perfect description of a choleric person.  Powerful Choleric is the dynamic person who dreams the impossible dream and aims to reach the unreachable star.   Those of you who don’t know, Richard Branson was a dyslexic child and was almost written off by his teachers in school. He says in his book “Screw it lets do it”- “I believe in goals. It’s never a bad thing to have a dream, but I’m practical about it. I don’t sit daydreaming about things that are impossible. I set goals and then work out how to achieve them. Anything I want to do in life I want to do well and not half-heartedly” “Believe it can be done Have Goals Live Life to the full Never Give Up Prepare Well Have Faith in Yourself Help Each...

Who are You? -3: Perfect Melancholy Personality

Analyst, meticulous planner, thinker and loner are some of the attributes that define a perfect melancholy personality.   He would set up a schedule and follow it. He wants things in perfect order, chaos and mess are not his favorite words. He would most certainly not appreciate guests coming to his house unannounced and without pre-scheduling their visit. He would hate it, if his routine is disrupted for any reason. Do you know anyone who has these characteristics? if you do, then you know Mr. Perfect Melancholy. Perfect melancholies are the thinkers. They are the people who are serious of purpose, dedicated to order and organization, and appreciative of beauty and intelligence. They don’t dash off in search of excitement but analyse the best plan for their lives. Melancholies of the world are responsible for giving us poetry, art, literature, philosophy and symphonies. They have culture, refinement, taste and talent very deeply ingrained in their nature. Where popular ...

Who are You? -2: Popular Sanguine Personality

All of us had a friend who would come to us after watching a movie and would insist on telling us the story of the movie, he would never tell the story from start to finish, but would pick out funny episodes of the movie and while narrating them to you would laugh more than he would speak and some of us would get pissed off and tell him either laugh or tell us the story, and our statement would not make any difference on his face and he would continue with his style of storytelling. You may find someone crying in the cinema hall watching a romantic movie or crying on a romantic TV serial at home, there is a great possibility that the person would be Popular Sanguine. The typical popular Sanguines are emotional and demonstrative, they make work into fun, and they all love to be with people. Popular Sanguines see excitement in each experience and repeat the flavour of each occasion in colorful descriptions. Popular Sanguines are outgoing and optimistic. A sanguine friend of ...

Who are you?

Have you noticed there are people who seem to know everything, they strongly believe that they are always right, when you start telling them something they cut your sentence start telling you in detail and once they start speaking they don’t allow anyone else to come in between and if anyone dares to barge into the discussion and tries to cut them short, depending on that person’s profile or their own, these guys can become real nasty. On the other hand, there could be some people who would never participate in any discussion, would just sit there quietly without interfering and even if they are asked about their opinion, chances are they would still prefer to remain silent or would speak minimum. There are another kind of people who tend to play dus ka dum always, they would talk in terms of data figure, if you say Salman Khan, they would know every detail about him. They are any salesperson’s nightmare because they would know more about his company then him. Then there is a contras...

Effortless Performance – Nishkaam Karm

The term is Nishkam Karma or निष्काम कर्म * . Nishkam/ निष्- ाम is a sandhi of nih+kam or निः+काम. Here "nih" or " निः" means "without" and "kam/ काम" means " kamna "/" कामना" , i.e. any kind of desire. Karma/ कर्म means "work"/"action", "kri/ कृ " dhatu. (*Reference from https://www.speakingtree.in/blog/nishkam-karma-of-bhagavad-gita) So, the term " Nishkam Karma " means "action or without desire" or "work without motive".   With desire comes effort to fulfil the desire, if work is dissociated with desire, the effort (stressful effort) is dissociated from the work. The work becomes effortless. Nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease, with carefreeness, harmony, and love. If we observe nature at work, we see that the least effort is expended. Grass doesn’t try to grow, it just grows. Fish don’t try to swim, they just swim. This is their intr...

Karma: The Cause and Effect

Karma is both action and consequence of that action. Everyone has heard the expression “What you sow is what you reap. “If we want to create happiness in our lives, we must learn to sow the seeds of happiness. The cause and effect dyad imply the action of conscious choice making. When we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success. The cause and effect are two ends of the same stick, it is not possible to pickup one end without lifting the other.  One of the funniest expectations that we have from our lives, that we wish to get the different results by doing the same thing. I have a certain routine which is making me obese I have a sedentary lifestyle, I work late at night, I don’t get up early, I have irregular eating habits, I party thrice a week, but then one day I decide that I wish to trim down my fat, start looking more presentable but I am not changing a single thing in my routine, but I expect that someh...

The power of Feeling: Feeling Good.

You are dreaming big, you have set your goals high, and you are also facing some tough challenges and adversity in life, congratulations, you have joined the league of likes of APJ Abdul Kalam, Dhirubhai Ambani, Albert Einstein, Sylvester Stallone, and Tom Cruise. Every single one of them faced the huge wall of adversity standing between them and their ambition, but with the belief and concerted effort and dedication they could vaporize the wall. The belief and conviction in your goal has tremendous power to make impossible, possible. This conviction the positive belief makes the universe work in your favour, slowly but definitely.  The famous writer Rhonda Byrne, author of the bestseller “The Secret” has elaborated on this concept in her another book called “The Power”. You are meant to have everything you love and desire. Your work is meant to be exciting, and you are meant to accomplish all the things you would love to accomplish. Your relationships with your family a...

Law of Attraction - Design your present, future and fortune

Our life is a collection of episodes and events, some good, some bad some outright ugly. When good things happen to us, we generally like to take credit for it or want others to acknowledge our role in it, but when things are no so good, we tend to find people, situation, circumstance, places, birds, animals, ghosts, Gods or anything, to hold responsible for our misfortune. There is tendency to externalize the reason for bad things happening to us. There is an old proverb as you sow, so shall you reap. In fact, mostly it’s not what happens to us hurts us, it’s mostly our response to what happens to us, decides what shall happen to us. Mostly its our bias, our belief, our fears, our apprehensions that influence our response or reaction to the things that happen to us, or the things that we initiate. The author Rhonda Byrne calls it the law of attraction and has talked about it in detail in her book called The Secret, and a film by the same name. The book was a rage when it came in ...
